Real Estate is a Life-Sustaining Business

By Executive Order, Governor Beshear has directed that all businesses that are not life-sustaining shall cease operations effective Thursday, March 26 at 8:00pm.  Real estate services have been classified as life-sustaining under the Professional Services portion of the order, seen below.

Section 1- O: “Professional services. Professional services, such as legal services, accounting services, insurance services, real estate services (including appraisal and title services). Professional services firms must implement telecommuting and remote work to the fullest extent possible, and should only use in-person interaction to support Minimum Basic Operations or where telecommuting is impossible.”

How Does This Impact You?
As part of his order, Gov. Beshear made the point of emphasizing that professional services firms must implement telecommuting and remote work to the fullest extent possible, and should only use in-person interaction to support Minimum Basic Operations or where telecommuting is impossible.  This means that you need to continue using social distancing measures and follow CDC guidelines. We urge each of you to conduct as much of your business as possible in a virtual environment for your safety and health, and the health of those around you.

The news regarding COVID-19 changes daily and GLAR is working diligently to stay on top of information coming out that affects our members and the industry.

We hope all of our members are staying safe and well as we navigate this unusual situation together.

Thank you,
