Get involved in the decision making process of your Association by volunteering to serve on a committee! Below is a list of available committees for the upcoming year. Once you find the committee you are interested in serving on, click the sign-up button below!

If appointed, each committee member will serve a 2 year term with service beginning October 1, 2019 and ending on September 30, 2021. (Exception: Interview Committees and Legislative Quick Response Team serve a one year term beginning October 1, 2019. The Professional Standards Committee is a one year term with service beginning January 1, 2019.)

DEADLINE for members to sign up for a committee is August 31, 2019.

 
 
REALTORS Care Week of Service
Responsible for planning and coordinating the REALTORS® Care Week of Service for the fall and spring. Work with local charitable organizations to determine and organize community service projects for members to volunteer.

Committee Size: Maximum 21 members
Time Commitment Estimate: One meeting per month. Each meeting is expected to last 1 hour. Some work done outside of meetings.

Forms Committee
Responsible for the update and review of the Association's contracts and forms. To be considered, agents must have been in the business for a minimum of 2 years.

Committee Size: Maximum 15 members
Time Commitment Estimate: One meeting per month. Each meeting is expected to last 1 ½ hours.

 
Government Affairs Committee
Assists in determining the Association's position on proposed legislation. Notifies GLAR of issues of concern that should be addressed legislatively. Responsible for monitoring and providing input on the weekly legislative report posted in the Realtor® Direct. Committee members also attend the annual meeting with Kentucky legislators in Frankfort in February.

Committee Size: Maximum 15 members
Time Commitment Estimate: Four meetings per year to be held quarterly, lasting approximately 1 ½ hours each. Members are also expected to attend the Kentucky Hill Visit in February.

Legislative Quick Response Team
The Legislative Quick Response Team consists of members of different expertise and disciplines who establish GLAR's policy on quick-moving legislation primarily on local issues.

Committee Size: Maximum 8 members
Time Commitment Estimate: Most meetings are expected to take place via conference call. There will be very short advance notice of call dates and times.

Jefferson County Candidate Interview Committee
This committee will be structured so that each major political party is as equally represented as possible. Committee members will be required to put aside party affiliation and consider the candidate's position as it relates to property rights, the brokerage of real estate, and real estate issues affecting our community. Candidates for Metro Council, PVA, Sheriff, County Clerk, School Board, State House, and State Senate will be invited to interview. The committee will forward recommendations for support to the Greater Louisville Association of Realtors® Political Action Committee.

Committee Size: Maximum 15 members
Time Commitment Estimate: 1-2 days of service in April and 2-3 days of service in August/September

Bullitt County Candidate Interview Committee
This committee will be structured so that each major political party is as equally represented as possible. Committee members will be required to put aside party affiliation and consider the candidate's position as it relates to property rights, the brokerage of real estate, and real estate issues affecting our community. Candidates for Magistrate, Judge Executive, PVA, Sheriff, County Clerk, State House, and State Senate will be invited to interview. The committee will forward recommendations for support to the Greater Louisville Association of Realtors® Political Action Committee.

Committee Size: Maximum 15 members
Time Commitment Estimate:  1-2 days of service in April and 1-2 days of service in September.

 
Oldham County Candidate Interviews
This committee will be structured so that each major political party is as equally represented as possible. Committee members will be required to put aside party affiliation and consider the candidate's position as it relates to property rights, the brokerage of real estate, and real estate issues affecting our community. MLS Improvement Committee
Makes recommendations for improvements to the MLS system and changes to MLS Rules and Regulations. Only experienced agents will be considered to serve on this committee.

Committee Size: Maximum 15 members
Time Commitment Estimate: 1 meeting every other month. Each meeting is expected to last 1 ½ hours.

 
Young Professionals Network Committee
Organizes events for YPN and strives to increase YPN visibility in Association activities. GLAR YPN is designed to encourage young real estate professionals to excel in their careers by providing tools to become involved through networking opportunities, participation in the community, taking an active role in policy discussions and advocacy issues, as well as the pursuit of leadership roles on local, state, and national levels.

Committee Size: Maximum 15 members
Time Commitment Estimate: Eight meetings per year, expected to last 1 hour each. Five events per year (meeting dates coordinate with events.

Professional Standards Committee
Assist the Kentucky Association of Realtors® by sitting on a hearing panel with your peers to determine the outcome of cases regarding violations of the Code of Ethics. Service on this committee is from January 2019 to Dec. 2019. Attendance at a one-day training program in early 2019 is MANDATORY. You must have at least a minimum of two years experience as a Realtor® to be considered to serve.
Affiliate Council (Affiliate Members Only)
The Affiliates Council is a group of GLAR Affiliate Members who meet to discuss affiliate opportunities as well as ways to enhance affiliate membership benefits. This group also coordinates several special events and networking events throughout the year.

Committee Size: Maximum 15 Affiliate members
Time Commitment Estimate:
1 meeting per month. Each meeting is expected to last 1 hour.
