Guidance for Fair Housing Compliance During COVID-19
During the COVID-19 pandemic, REALTORS® continue to play an important role in assisting people with finding homes.  NAR has developed a new frequently asked questions supplement on complying with the Fair Housing Act during COVID-19.

One of the most asked frequently asked questions addressed is,
"May I restrict children from attending in-person showings?"  Imposing such restrictions is not a recommended best practice.  The Fair Housing Act prohibits discrimination based on familial status, and restrictions on children – and families with children – may create legal exposure.  If you wish to place restrictions on entering the home due to concerns related to COVID-19, consider alternative restrictions instead, such as restricting showings to purchasers of record or restricting the number of visitors allowed in the home at a time,  along with adherence to CDC best practices for the preventing exposure to, and the spread of, COVID-19.

Do You Have Hidden Bias?
Bias Override - Overcoming Barriers to Fair Housing
The mind science experts at the Perception Institute present an online workshop to help members avoid implicit bias in their daily business interactions. Drawing upon the latest evidence-based research, Perception explains how our brains’ automatic, instant association of stereotypes with particular groups can cause us to treat those who are different from us unfairly, despite our best intentions and often without our conscious awareness. Perception then applies these concepts to the everyday work of REALTORS®.

The 50-minute video offers strategies to check your own bias and highlights how to show respect, ensure fairness, and improve business relationships. WATCH VIDEO
