REALTOR Store Closed for Inventory
The Realtor® Store will be closed for inventory on Thursday, December 28, 2023. It will reopen for normal business hours on Friday, December 29, 2023.
Vacant Land/Lot Scams Still Happening
We have received additional reports from members regarding increased activity with vacant land/lot scams in our area. Vacant lot scams are a form of fake seller scam. They happen when someone poses as the owner of a property and tries to get a listing, a contract, and a closing where they can steal funds for a property they do not own. They even may supply fraudulent identification and want to use the internet and telephone to close the transaction. They will usually want to rush a deal and will generally not meet with their agents in person. Remember, you should always exercise additional caution and extra vetting in closing transactions where you do not personally know the seller or where the seller is executing a deed outside of your presence.

If you encounter this scam, report it to the FBI on their website. If you or a client has been the victim of an online scam, report it to both the local law enforcement and the local FBI Field Office.
