Louisville took the spotlight at the 2025 National Association of REALTORS® Broker Summit, hosted right here in our hometown. We’ve recently been made aware of a scam targeting local agents, where an individual is impersonating a property owner and attempting to list a property they don’t own. In these cases, the scammer has disappeared when asked for identification. While buyer scams are more commonly known, seller scams are on the rise — particularly involving absentee owners. Please exercise caution and verify identities when working with sellers you have not met in person. Stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the appropriate authorities. If you encounter this scam, report it to the FBI on their website. If you or a client has been the victim of an online scam, report it to both the local law enforcement and the local FBI Field Office

The Kentucky REALTORS® Past Presidents' Committee announced a vacancy for the position of At-Large Delegate. This position has a term ending on December 31, 2027. In accordance with the Bylaws, the Board of Directors will designate a successor for the remainder of this term by majority vote of the Board of Directors at their next meeting on June 26, 2025.

Those interested in serving as an At-Large Delegate for the remainder of the term should advise the KYR Past Presidents Committee by emailing jjohnson@kyrealtors.com no later than June 19, 2025. Information regarding the responsibilities of KYR Delegates can be found in the Bylaws and Policies and Procedures Manual. The National Association of REALTORS® announced it has adopted a new MLS policy, Multiple Listing Options for Sellers, which exists in conjunction with the Clear Cooperation Policy and other MLS policies to provide sellers and their agents more options and choice when marketing a property, while also supporting fair housing by providing buyers and their agents with equal access to important MLS property information. The Multiple Listing Options for Sellers policy is effective March 25, 2025, and must be implemented by September 30, 2025, allowing for technical changes associated with this new seller option of delayed marketing exempt listings.

The Metro Search, Inc. (MSI) Board of Directors will discuss next steps at its upcoming meeting and offer members additional education and information in advance of the September implementation.
