Our upcoming billing for your spring membership dues is scheduled to go out via email at the end of February and is due April 1st. As approved by the Board of Directors and previously communicated, we wanted to remind you that our billing process is transitioning to an annual billing in the fall. To facilitate this transition, we are adjusting your upcoming dues bill to also include the months of October, November, and December. With this one-time adjustment, your membership dues will be fully paid through the end of 2024. This change is part of our ongoing efforts to streamline processes to provide you with a more consistent and efficient billing system that won’t interrupt your services. See the adjusted amounts in the table below.

We are excited to share that Matt Troiani, NAR's Senior Counsel and Director of Legal Affairs is joining us for our upcoming NAR Update on March 7th at GLAR featuring your NAR Directors Lamont Breland, Will Fischer, and Carter Martin, Jr.

During this session, members will be updated on the NAR lawsuits and culture concerns as well as what solutions are being put in place. This provides a great opportunity for members to ask questions and hear directly from both NAR and your own representatives at the National level.

The National Association of REALTORS® Snapshot of Race and Home Buying in America released in 2023 reports the following statistics:

The national Black homeownership rate in the U.S. is 44%,
The Black homeownership rate is 40% in Kentucky,
21% of Black homeowners spend more than 30% of their income on housing in Kentucky,
24% of Black renter households can afford to buy the typical home,
17% of Black Americans are denied home financing in Kentucky,
Median household income for Black/African Americans in the U.S is $80,000,
17% of Black/African-Americans purchased multigenerational homes; and
27% of single women homebuyers are Black.

The 2023 NAREB State of Housing in Black America (SHIBA) Report shares information on the state of Black homeownership and disparities in homeownership rates compared to other races.

In collaboration with the Veterans Association of Real Estate Professionals, we are offering the opportunity for GLAR members to obtain the VAREP Military Veteran Housing Certification. You will learn about the VA home loan program, as well as important topics including the VA loan history, military and veteran demographics, and tips on writing a great VA loan offer. Mastery of these topics will allow you to better serve the military and veteran families.
