The Compliance Corner:

Congratulations, you’ve completed a sale! Here are the top 3 things to remember as you close your listing on the MLS:

  1. You only have 2 business days to mark the listing as CLOSED! Any later and it will result in a violation and potentially a fine. To avoid this, please make sure any assistants who close listings are aware of this deadline.

  1. When adding closing information, please double check all closing information including listing price, listing/selling members (don’t forget co-listing or co-selling members!), and seller concessions. This saves you from having to contact the MLS Department later to make updates.

  1. If your listing has expired, the MLS Department will have to close the listing and you will be sent a violation notice and potentially a fine. This can be easily avoided by regularly checking the expiration dates of listings and requesting extensions via the Multiple Listing Change Notice form when needed.

For more information on closing listings, please see the MLS Rules & Regulations: https://www.louisvillerealtors.com/it/mls_rules.pdf

TOP 3 Violations in the last 30 Days
  1. Sellers Disclosure missing from listing
  1. Listing not marked as Sold within 2 business days
  1. Coming Soon form missing from listing
