The National Association of REALTORS® Snapshot of Race and Home Buying in America released in 2024 shows:

The national Black homeownership rate in the U.S. is 44.1% up only .1 over last year.
The Black homeownership rate is 39% in Kentucky, down 1% from last year.
24.5% of Black homeowners spend more than 30% of their income on housing in Kentucky.
24% of Black renter households can afford to buy the typical home.
Maximum price of the homes that Black renters can afford to purchase is $146,430
22% of Black Americans are denied home financing in Kentucky up from 17% last year.
24% of Black/African-Americans purchased multigenerational homes.

The 2024 NAREB State of Housing in Black America (SHIBA) Report shares information on the state of Black homeownership and disparities in homeownership rates compared to other races.
